I gladly accept Fiction and Non-fiction novels to review. I prefer historical, realistic, and contemporary books. I greatly enjoy memoirs however I am very particular with regards to which I read. I prefer books that are not written or are about prominent people.
I am not willing to review Adult books that contain sexually graphic content of even the slightest. Nor am I interested in writing reviews for self-published books, unless they are found on my TBR list.
I would prefer print copies however I am mindful of the inconvenience it would cause hence I am inclined to accept digital copies (kindle or epub format) and audiobooks.
I typically finish reading a book within 6 hours however because I am at university it can stretch out to 3-7 days. I put priority on ARCs and make it a point to write reviews before publication dates. I write only honest reviews with a purpose to illustrate every journey a book has taken me to. Therefore my reviews are written in a casual and relaxed manner resembling a conversation with a close friend.
There is no guarantee I’ll force myself to finish a book that has not caught my interest however a review will still be written in response as to what I didn’t enjoy and why I didn’t finish, however I do not have the audacity to talk negatively about the author.
I am not fond of romance novels however I am open to them as long as the characters are convincing. The same goes for all other genres; I enjoy books with a realistic take on real life experiences.
My reviews will include the following:
- Cover art
- Book stats: Title, author, publisher, page count, release date, series status
- Where I received the book
- My review: What I liked and didn’t
- Star rating
